ABOUT
TURNER & POOCH

Who Am I?

I started Turner & Pooch Dog Training because I have a love and passion for our canine companions. It all started when I was about 8. I got lost in the woods behind my house, I was scared and didn’t know what to do. Fortunately, I had my dog, Zack with me. Sobbing, I told him to take me home – and he did! I will never forget that day. It was the first time I realized I could influence canine behaviour. Since then, all dogs have had a special place in my heart.

Fast-forward to today, I teach dog owners the best practices to change their dogs’ behaviour; changing their lives by helping them have an even better relationship with their beloved dogs. My techniques assure that the training becomes a lifelong habit and not just a quick fix.

I train owners and their dogs in the Peterborough area (Ontario, Canada), helping owners like you create a calm, happy, balanced pet you will be proud to show off to your friends, family, or even total strangers!

What I Do

I teach everyday dog owners just like you how to relate to their dogs and see the world through their eyes. When you hire me to help you train your dog, I help you understand the underlying issues to help you solve your dog’s problem behaviour. Big or small, I help them all!

My comprehensive set of private training programs are designed in such a way so that you get the MOST out of training your dog with me. I include all the basic commands in each program. These commands are essential for every dog and owner. In addition to the basics, I will work with you to provide any further commands and behaviours that will make your life with your dog easier and more enjoyable

MEET THE ASSISTANTS

Merlin

Merlin is a boxer I got as a puppy at 8 weeks old. He is a typical boxer with all the exuberance and puppiness of the breed, but he is very obedient and knows when to turn all that excitement off. He is my puppy whisperer, and he sometimes comes with me to train with clients who are in need of a distraction or some extra socializing with a well behaved dog.

Willow

Willow is a Doberman who I adopted in May of 2015. She was not doing well in her previous home(s) due to many reasons, some of which included chasing the farm animals. She was a shy, nervious and anxious girl when she got here, but she has blossomed into a confident dog who now works as my service dog.
