If you have a dog that can’t seem to settle down, teaching them to be calm on command will be invaluable!
Have your dog go to their “place” (it can be their dog bed or a blanket on the floor) to settle in for a few hours. They can be sitting, standing or laying down, but they must be within the boundary of the bed or blanket you’ve given them.
Your dog will learn that this is his or her time to be chill and take a nap – and they will! Dogs need a lot more sleep than you might think! Up to 20 hours a day! :O
If your dog keeps getting up, keep them leashed and tied to a sturdy piece of furniture or close the loop of their leash to the back of a door that isn’t frequently used.
